1. The Chillon Castle

Located on the seashore of Lake Geneva, the Chillon Castle is one of the most well-known castles in Switzerland. It also has three courtyard and four great halls which offer magnificent views of the lake beyond. An architectural jewel located in the most beautiful setting conceivable, between the shores of Lake Geneva and the Alps, this monument with over 1,000 years of history, has always moved artists and writers, from Jean-Jacques Rousseau to Victor Hugo and Lord Byron, from Delacroix to Courbet.

2. Zermatt

4. Swiss National Park

It is a refuge for various wildlife such as elks, marmots and eagles, as well. Switzerland, famous for its startling landscapes, has one national park, the biggest nature conserve in the country. The Swiss National Park is in the far southeastern corner of the country, in the lovely Engadine valley at an elevation of 1400 to 3170 meters and covers 172 square kilometers. It’s about 2-1/2 hours from Zurich. The park has rivers winding through deep vale, thick forests, wildlife — golden eagles, chamois, deer, marmots, birds, ibex — and high mountains. Bright wildflowers bloom along the 80 kilometers of hiking trails.

Located in Lucerne, the Swiss transportation Museum is home to an exhibit of locomotives, ships, aircraft, automobile and other modes of transport and communiqué. You’re sure to enjoy the Planetarium and the IMAX theater, too. The Swiss Transport Museum or Verkehrshaus Der Schweiz, in Lucerne, is a museum, opened in July 1959 and exhibiting all forms of transport (including locomotives, automobiles, ships, and aircraft) as well as communications. The museum also maintains a large collection of work by Hans Erni, a local painter and sculptor.

10. Aletsch glacier

This is the longest and most wonderful glacier in the Alps at 23 km long. It is the easiest to access, and is the sight of the first UNESCO World Heritage site. This glacier is found in the western-southern part of Switzerland in the Aletsch region. People have been getting naked at the Dead Sea and taking pictures of them covered in sea mud for years, but never like this. Spencer Tunick, internationally famous documenter of the nude figure in public, has expressed interest in creating an installation at the Dead Sea to raise wakefulness of its declining state, according to a press release sent out Sunday.
